Introductory & Background Information The Southwest Mississippi Mental Health Complex has provided service since September 1974 to residents if its service area. Today. Mississippi is divided into 15 mental health regions. SWMMIC is considered Region Eleven. Region Eleven consists of nine counties: Adams. Amite, Claiborne, Franklin, Lawrence, Jefferson, Pike, Walthall and Watkinson in Southwest of Mississippi. Currently, SWMMHC has six divisions including Administrative Service, Children& Youth Services, Community Support Services, and Long Term Services. The agency needs to hire more therapists to help with the clients. The center want to make sure that the clients get all the help for them. More moneys needs to be allocated to the center. This would allow the agency’s need for providing proper care for the client. Implement more grants and more funding through Medicare. Yet, most importantly fight for the protection of mental health patients.
My ideals to put more pressure on the federal government to implement more funding for the center. A multidisciplinary team should offer for 24 hours service for seven day a week. The center should offer some outpoint therapy and improve the standard for the programs. The logistical concerns would be fewer clients are coming in for treatment, because of funding. No funding allows to offer more programs for the client. The structural issues of the facility a bigger parking lots. More transportation for client and bigger waiting room. They are planning to do some model of the center in
