Should students have to take a second language in school? Well first of all their is only Spanish classes in high school and it is mandatory to take in order to pass high school. That’s why I think students should not have to learn a second language because they may want to do something else, it can be difficult to learn and their may be a chance that you will never use it. Wanting to do something else like band or etc is an issue when needing to take a class you don't want to do like learning another language. If your schedule for 9th and 10th grade is having to take spanish then by 11th grade it will be too late to learn how to play an instrument or draw. For example I actually wanted to learn violin in middle school but i wanted to get my spanish classes out of the way. That’s why second language classes should be optional because maybe someone whats to learn Spanish to make more money being a doctor, but others don’t feel that way so it forces them to take it in order to pass. …show more content…
For instance a lot of people can’t roll their R’s which makes it hard to learn most of the words in spanish. In addition when having a conversation in spanish you may mix a word with spanish with english (Spanglish) which will sound wrong when being said. For those reasons you may get confused and the end result is not learning anything or getting a bad grade in class. As a matter of fact there is only spanish in all the middle schools and high schools which some students may think is harder for them to learn than french or
