Sparta was a place where they were strong in military. The reason Sparta military was so good because of their perfection of a battle formation called the phalanx .Spartan military was great and strong. Although, Sparta was strong in the military Spartans had a lot of other weakness. The strengths of Spartan education did not outweigh the weaknesses because the Spartans abused their children. The Spartan boys were taken from their families at a young age. Also they lacked education. To begin with the Spartan boys was abused. The spartan children were encouraged to steal, but were whipped if they got caught. They were encouraged to steal because they weren’t being fed properly. A spartan father had no right to decide whether to rear his newly born son or not. He was obliged to take the baby to the elders of his tribe for inspection. Spartan had state-controlled dedication called the agoge. At the age of seven, he was removed from his family and, from his eight to his twenty- first, he was educated by the state by the state according to a rigorous military-like discipline.
Lastly, is they lacked education.
