Danielle Keeling spoke on behalf of several parents with special needs children who attend special day classes in the District. They are concerned with the current policy that allows students to be placed at different schools each year. They feel their children need consistent and familiar environments in order to learn. They have requested that the policy be changed and have been told it is based on numbers and space at schools. They would like their children to attend one elementary, middle and high school. They are notified of placement several weeks prior to the beginning of school. The parents feel it is unacceptable and discriminatory. Superintendent Shelton presented the minor revisions to the policies listed below.
On a motion by Rachel Hurd, seconded by Mark Jewett, the Board approved minor revisions Board policy 0220 Goals for the School District, 3100 Budget, and Administrative Regulations 0460 Local Control and Accountability Plan, 3100 Budget, 4161.11/4261.11/4361.11 Industrial Accident/Illness Leave and 6145.2 Athletic Competition. (4-0). Board member Jennison was absent.

Assistant Superintendent Rogenski reviewed the proposed changes based on the law and reformatting to compare with CSBA updates.
The Board discussed the term periodic as it relates to training for staff. Mr. Rogenski will review options for regular training or a sign-off on acknowledge of receiving materials for AR 4119. On page 11.1 (4), item #2 the Board discuss keeping the records in their personnel file rather than only retaining for two years. Mr. Rogenski will check the on-line records.
