College students are getting angry at the fact that the government controls what they can or cannot say. Most college students find out what they believe and how to act on in during their college experience so the “speech codes” of them not being able to state their own thoughts are provoked. The main issue with the speech codes are that they are afraid someone will get offended, and then they call this hate speech. Most people don’t understand the difference between hate speech and just speaking their own mind.
College is all about expressing how I feel and being able to talk about those feelings. So finding out that I might not even be able to express my feelings when I’m there kind of aggravates me. There shouldn’t be rules on what you …show more content…
The day of pranks and laugher, April 1, there was an incident that wasn’t just a playful joke. Bassem Youssef, a political satirist Egyptian, underwent questioning for allegedly insulting President Mohammed Morsi and Islam. The rights to the first amendment are being violated and people are beginning to protest. People just want the right to speak their mind without offending anybody in particular or getting in trouble for it, but the government is making that impossible. Therefore people are acting out with forms of protest.
The fact that this guy went through questioning just because he stated how he felt, violates everything that people have learned through the first amendment. People should be able to speak their mind without this fear of getting in trouble by the government. All in all this is an issue that needs to be resolved.

Although it was for a good cause, like the San Bernardino shooting, it still goes against what people have fought for centuries about. They bypass the security of the phone to look into the more detailed sources like the social media apps or the photos.
