The sporting event I chose for this analysis is Bellarmine vs Air Force lacrosse game, which was played on April 2nd at noon at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium. The reason I chose this game to look at and pick out psychological concepts in them was because I lived the moment. I wanted to do something that I have participated and could look at through my own experiences. The 5 examples of sports psychology concepts that took place during the game was psyching up strategies, goal setting strategies, physical arousal, imagery and high arousal.

Right before the game we set goals that we wanted to complete as the course of the game went on. Since they were the number 14th ranked team in the country, we knew we would have to go out with a chip on our shoulder and score the first few goals. We set goals to out groundball them, out shoot them, and amongst all, out hustle them. We did complete most of those goals, which is why it was such a close game in the end. #3 Physical Effects of Arousal
Physical effects of arousal comes from increase of arousal before an athletic event, and the effects include increase of heart rate, increase of respiration, butterflies and other physical effects. Before the game one of our players usually gets bad cramps because of nerves, but before this game it was so bad that he was puking before the game because the nerves were so bad. #4 Imagery
Imagery is the use of visualization to enhance athletic performance. Our team often uses imagery leading up to the game at the end of the week. We watch tons of film on our opponents so our coach is always telling us to visualize what our opponents do and to visualize what we need to do in response. On game day our whole team should know our scouting report and understand our plays and what to do in certain situations because we have practiced and visualized them so
