In Squealer’s speeches there are a lot of persuasive appeals in many ways, and this shows how Squealer has planned out his speeches well and is a very persuasive and influential character in the story to the animals. Squealer uses all types of persuasive appeals, he tries to appeal to all of the animals by using emotional, logical, and ethical appeals, to attempt at convincing all of the animals that what they do is right and for the benefit of the farm, even though what they are saying was for the good of the farm, was something bad. Another reason they use these persuasive appeals is to give themselves more power and make the pigs lives better, and they eventually start to become the same as the humans. But this is only due to the persuasive appeals that he uses, like when he says “Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig.” he is using logical appeal to appeal to the animals that believe in logic and reason, like the other pigs, the horses, or the dogs. He also uses emotional appeal in his speeches, such as when he said, “‘It was the most affecting site i have ever seen!’ said squealer, lifting his trotter and wiping a tear away. ‘I was at his bedside at the very last. And at the end, almost too weak to speak, he whispered in my ear that his sole sorrow was to have passed on before the windmill was finished. “Forward, comrades!’ He whispered. “Forward in the name of rebellion!. Long live Animal Farm! Long live Comrade Napoleon!
