St. Jerome was born in 3331 A.D in the town of Stridonius. Saint Jerome was originally named Eusebius Hieronymous Sophronius before being canonized. His feast day is September the 30th and he is the Patron Saint of Librarians. While a young man, Saint Jerome’s father sent him to Rome to further his academic studies. While there, he learned both Latin and Greek and was also baptized by Pope Liberius. After Rome, Saint Jerome left for Trier to continue his education of languages and began to study religious philosophy. After completing his studies in Trier, he then moved to Antioch.
