Jeanne D’Arc was born sometime in 1412 in Domrémy, France. She was a military leader, warrior, and a martyr. (A person who is killed because of their religious or other beliefs) She helped defeat the English during the Hundred years war which resulted in her being captured by the English. She was then put on trial for heresy and found guilty. This resulted in her death. She was burned at the stake on May 30th, 1431 (age 19) She was beatified on April 18th, 1909 at Notre Dame de Paris by Pope Pius X. St Joan of Arc was canonized on May 16th, 1920 in St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome by Pope Benedict XV. Her feast day is on May 30th. She dedicated her life to religion work. She was venerated in the Catholic Roman church and was beatified on November 13th, 1938 by Pope Pius XI. She was canonized July 7th of 1946 by Pope Pius XI. Her feast day is December 2nd. She founded the missionary sisters of The Sacred Heart, which supported many Italian immigrants to the USA. She was the first naturalized citizen of the USA to be canonized by the Roman Catholic Church on July 7th, 1946. In her lifetime she made 23 transatlantic crossings and established 67 institutions. She died on December 22nd, 1917 in Chicago. She is recognized for her amazing work and her dedication to the Catholic
