The Stalingrad memorial preserves the former past of Volgograd and shows the horrors of the Battle of Stalingrad. The memorial honors the snipers of Stalingrad and the civilians who lost their lives in the battle that was marked as one of the deadliest battles of World War 2 and took place between August 1942 - February 1943 in the harsh Russian winter . The memorial commemorates the bravery and the skills that the USSR snipers used to make the Germans fear their deadly power. It shows the destruction of former Stalingrad and the memory of how many died in the battle. It educates the people of Stalingrad on what took place in WW2 and makes them remember their past and how many people sacrificed their lives to save the city they live in. This memorial helps people share the pain that the civilians felt during the battle. It will reinforce the values that the people of Stalingrad have protection and they will never give up the fight even when the odd are against them.

Because it shows how the people thought of the snipers as angels watching over them. I made red streaks up the tower to represent a number of casualties in the battle of Stalingrad. I put evergreens around the building to represent that the people of Stalingrad are like evergreens, and they stay green and strong even in the winter. I chose to put quotes on the back of my memorial to inform the viewer about real events that took place straight from a primary source. I also chose to put civilians at the bottom of the tower instead of inside the tower to show how they lost their homes. I arranged the people in a way to show the ratio of casualties to living and just how many died in the battle. Finally, the model represents a realistic version of what a scene in Russia might look like with the cold snow and broken down
