It is a good thing that standardized testing is in schools. Standardized testing needs to stay in schools. Standardized testing needs to stay in schools because it teaches accountability, the test is informational, and they are easy to take. To begin with, the standardized tests teach accountability because students are accountable for doing good on the test, teachers are accountable for teaching the students the correct curriculum, and the administrators are accountable for acquiring teachers that know the correct curriculum.(wilson P.4) Students are accountable for doing good on the test because if they don't then they could get in trouble with the school, they could get put in higher level classes, and some jobs look at students tests …show more content…
The information provided by the test can track students progress over the years.(columbia university p.3) They allow for comparison between students. Tests are instantaneously graded by computers which allows for them to be compared with other schools in the area which can be informational. The test can show what the students got wrong therefore showing what the student needs to work. With a test showing what a student needs to work on, students can get better grades on the test the next year. The test shows the state's record against other states in the nation or even other countries in the nation.
