Standardized Testing Too Much

Do you think standardized tests stress students too much? Some people think standardized tests are normal. But some think they’re too stressful. I believe that standardized tests stress students too much. Texas schools take from 5 to 15 tests a year. At KMS, we only take 5, this is too much!! But they’re trying to cut back on graduation requirements and testing. Students will take less science and math. Texas is trying to reduce testing so much. Also, how hard they push students to graduation. Students tend to worry about standardized tests so much that it robs them of their childhoods. They only measure a small amount of what education matters. The tests have not improved student achievement, this causes poverty gaps. The tests don’t even accurately measure a student’s knowledge anyways. What these tests really need to measure is if the students are learning or not. The tests are unnecessary to take if they aren't even measuring the knowledge of a student the right way. Other people believe that standardized testing is normal. They believe that the tests develop more deep/complex thinking skills. I believe that standardized tests are stressful and unnecessary. Because we take too many. Because they don't help with student achievement. Because they don't measure a student’s knowledge. I mean seriously people! What is this, focus your whole year on one thing that leads up to a big test that kills you! I would love to have my reader agree with my opinion on standardized tests.
