After conducting research among a small group of University of Memphis employees, one could conclude that more research on the topic is necessary. The State of Tennessee must conduct more research in order to determine appropriate measures to reach its publics. Based on secondary research and results from the survey based on questions 10, public awareness and satisfaction is low. Also, based on responses by surveyed participants, the State of Tennessee should create laws against cell-phone usage while driving. The Center for Disease Control has named distracted driving as a health risk, however, the State of Tennessee has made small efforts to reach its audiences.
The survey of Felicia Ingram’s Co-Workers, drivers are using their cell-phones while driving despite efforts initiated by the State of Tennessee to combat the issue and their own feelings against others using cell-phones while driving. The data showed that most men used Apple Smartphones among surveyees and that men use their cell phones to talk on the phone. Most of the surveyees do not use their time on the road to text. Most respondents, across all ages, own a smartphone. The respondents between the ages of 20 and 29 in this survey do not have kids. Their responses vary on the efforts the State of Tennessee uses to advertise against distracted driving. This survey showed that despite reports against distracted driving and currently laws passed and already in effect, respondents still use their cellphone while driving and have mixed feelings toward anti-distracted driving
