Our government was established with the word of God. Though with this day and age it really doesn’t seem like it it is. It all started with the Declaration of Independence, which was signed by many founding fathers. One of which was Stephen Hopkins.He was a governor from
Rhode Island and was a firm believer in the Bible. His beliefs aren’t always stated in history book but in the following report we will talk about his life and his belief on the Bible and how this country is based on them. He was very sympathetic to books, and was very fond of literature and science, which helped him to excel in all his studies. He later on became a great mathematician. Hopkins married Sarah Scott on October 9, 1726 at the age of nineteen, and he ended of having five sons and two daughters. He earned the trust of his committee and became a surveyor at the age of twenty-six, and was selected to moderate a town meeting. He served in the general assembly from the year 1744 to 17541. During this time he was an assistant justice of Rhode
Island Supreme Court and also became Chief Justice. He ended up wining the “governorship” in
1755.
He was also know for being a good orator “whose debates relevant, powerful, and precise.” Because he was such a good oratory had a lot of pull on certain decisions when it came down to congress making decisions. Also being s strong believer in the faith helped as well. Him and his wife other were strong believers. What mist people don’t know is that his wife grandmother was “imprisoned” and tortured for her strong beliefs. Even though during there time the Bible was more prominent than in this day and age, there still were parts of the world
