In the short story “How to Date a Browngirl, Blackgirl, Whitegirl, or Halfie” by Junot Diaz discuss the case by which appearances are manipulated towards each race of females is being describe romantic and sexual approach base on their color of their skin. Furthermore, the male character himself was going through shame and hiding his identity trying to win the hearts of the local girls.
