Are teenagers really a threat to the public? Summer Height High stereotypes teenagers and depicts teenagers as a dangerous threat. Stereotypes are inaccurate and also not acceptable to us. So, why is this being shown to the public then?
Summer Heights High is somewhat accurate when it comes to the representations of teenager’s attitudes, behaviours and identities because it provides evidence of teenagers’ stereotypes, teenagers are known for their rebellious behaviors this is represented in Summer Heights High. The media ridicules teenagers causing them to have certain perspectives on them and others. In Summer Heights High which is a form of media; provides visual evidence on how the media plays a great part on the representations of teenager. In the mockumentary Jamie is influenced by the people and environment she lived in. Ridicule or mockery is shown when Ja’mie enters into the public school and starts to mock public schools by saying that and also stating that they are lower- educated people than private schools. She mocks public schools as being a lower standard than private school because the media shows private school as a more ‘smarter and wealthier’ school than public schools. Jamie bitchiness is a good representation of teenage behaviour. I think that Summer Heights High shows a great understanding of teenagers by demonstrating the negative representation of teenagers by ridiculing them through a comedic and dramatic
