Stereotyping In The 1920's

Since the beginning of time women were expected to cook, clean the house, and care for the children. In 1920 the 19th amendment was passed in America, giving women the right to vote. This was the first step to equality. Since then women have gotten more respect, but there’s still some stereotyping in the world. Some girls in school feel like they can’t pursue certain classes because they are “boys’ classes”. These classes may include robotics, welding, and even math. For example, there is only one other girl in my programming class. When people look at young women and say, “Girls can’t be in that class. It’s for boys.” girls are more likely to not take those classes. This pressure can be harder to push off if teachers of these classes also
