Steve Earle Death Penalty Analysis

In Steve Earle's reminiscence of visiting a friend named John Wayne Nobles, he illuminates his thoughts on the death penalty(A death in Texas). I agree with Earle that the death penalty should be abolished because humans do not have the supernatural authority to end other's lives, it causes differentiating stress on the family, and there is no chance of a redeemable life change.

The first reason why the death penalty should be abolished is because of my belief that the being who gave us life should also be the being that takes it away. As humans we are not living to our full potential when our life gets cut short by either a misunderstanding or a mistake. Our life was meant to be beautiful and filled with many learning experiences and opportunities.
