The summer reading book that I read was Stiff by Mary Roach. The Book is about how they use Human Cadavers in experiments. The experiments help influence and greater technology that will help the living humans survive. The experiments help with car, airplane, gun and other technologies. Cadavers also help with doctors to recreate and t help advance themselves in an effort to improve their medical procedures and new medicines. These experiments help prove how things are supposed to take place in a certain order and the order is given rigorous detailed scrutiny so that the result is produced and understood for the better of human kind. The use of cadaver might be debatable and not accepted in many religions, but the benefits and the use and understanding …show more content…
The rigorous detailing and the preciosity of the tests even though controversial and not liked by many are done to make sure that the result are realistic. The experiment is so exact and similar to a real life crash so that when these crashes to happen the people inside the cars are not only not killed, but their injuries are kept to a minimum because of the fact that it has been seen before and they were able to lessen the severity of it because that fact that it has been accounted for in the experiments. These experiments have helped to develop technology like door air bags and the creation of the necessities like a seat belt and a windshield. Human cadavers were what they used to create these things. The experiment that they used create seat belts was that they drove a car into a wall and watched as the human cadavers were lifted from their seats and thrown there what is now their the windshield. They came up with the idea of a windshield by firing golf balls into the cadaver’s faces to simulate hail and other objects flying into a humans face as they drove at various speeds. The final experiment they did was to help with the creation of door air bags. They did this experiment by having cars get t-boned and seeing how they can protect depending on where the car is hit the closest passenger in the car. These detailed and well planned experiments helped to create the necessaries that are in all cars now a days. These experiments help to prove this literary analysis
