When he inquires as to why she recalls his whereabouts, she clarifies that he fired her amid his absence. At that point does he discover that she was Dominique Francon. She lets him know that she had enjoyed her occupation, but he wishes she were here to request her employment back. However, she lets him know that she is asking about Stoneridge for her husband, and she will sleep with him if that is what it takes.
