On February 13, 1967, The Beatles released a certain particular song by the name of “Strawberry Fields Forever,” a song so revered by its listeners that it is still considered to be, to this very day, a work of art, a masterpiece. The Beatles’ song has a relatively straightforward structure, starting with an intro and then alternating back and forth between the chorus and about three verses before wrapping everything up with a final chorus and a coda. Aside from the rather generic structure, though, the music itself has an incredibly psychedelic texture to it, not to mention it’s double time signature changes when approaching “Strawberry Fields Forever” in the lyrics, . The song itself was inspired by Lennon’s memories of a Salvation Army children’s home known as “Strawberry Field,” a place close to where John grew up, where he used to go and play as a kid. This however, still remains to be the one hard fact about this song. For years people have been trying to decipher the meaning behind “Strawberry Fields Forever.” John found plenty of amusement from people’s efforts as well. The Intro and first chorus initially set up a surreal, almost dream-like vibe to the piece, starting out with the Mellotron and then sliding in with an electric guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. Before continuing, it already appears as though Lennon is inviting the listener into this safe place beyond reality where one can be safe and protected from all things related to the troubles of the normal world, this place, in the song lyrics, is introduced to the listener as Strawberry Fields. Beyond the first two sections in the song, the logic behind each verse appears to increase in abstraction, making it more and more difficult for the reader to understand what Lennon is
