The goal of the Constitution of the United States is to form a more perfect Union. We continue striving to meet the orginal vision of the authors of the Constitution by learning and observing it's main strengths in our world today, and also its main threats. What I believe to be one of the biggest strengths in the Contitution are the checks and balances put in place between the three branches of government. It is next to impossible for one person to gain too much power with all the different systems pushing and pulling against each other. The authors of the Constitution knew that if they didn't put a steady system of checks and balances in place the whims of one man would destroy the entire country and the freedoms of each american living in it. The Constitution truly helped complete and solidify the name The United States of America. What I see as a main threat to the Constitution today is how people choose to interpret it. If one person interprets the Constitution the way he needs to interpret it at that time, then the systems the authors worked so hard to create won't be able to work correctly. However, I believe one of the biggest threats to the Constitution in this country today can be found in the nation it
