First of all, according to Introduction to Physical Therapy “ a stroke or cerebrovascular accident (CVA) refers to neurologic problems arising from disruption of blood flow in the brain.” This disturbance may be caused by hemorrhage or blockage from a clot that results in ischemia (decreased oxygen). The type and severity symptoms will depend on the area of brain involved. Therefore, the types of therapy will depend on what parts of the brain were damaged during the stroke.
