My family is very small, it consists of my mother, sister, niece and me. Before my niece was born our family was extremely distant from each other. It took us approximately six years for us three to really bond and become very united like all families should be. We went through many rigorous experiences that shaped us and elaborated a strong bond between us. The experiences were intolerable at some point but the outcome was rewarding for my family. When I was fourteen years old my mother, sister and I had to relocate to a complete different city; from Paramount to Compton. I was tremendously upset because I was not going to be able to attend the high school that belonged to my middle school. Therefore, I would not be able to see my middle school friends and had to attend a high school where I knew no one. My new high school was walking distance to my aunt’s house, therefore, every day after school I would have to go to my aunts house. My sister and I spent most of our time with our five younger cousins so time went by fast and it was not as boring. We would be there for most of the day, from three to six, waiting for my mother to get out of work. The house where we lived was practically just a place to sleep or shower. Reason being, we would arrive there at seven at night to shower, directly go to bed and wake up at six in the morning to go to school and work the following day. Four years passed with the same routine nothing had changed and our family seemed to be falling apart more each day. Soon my sister gave my mother and me a huge surprise, she told us she was pregnant. Three months into her pregnancy my mother decided that we would be moving back to the city of Paramount because she did not want her grandchild to be in danger.
