Study Guides: Why People Get The Grade They Prepared

I believe people get the grade they deserve based on how well they prepared. Devoting at least twenty minutes a night to look over notes, definitions, and study guides will help in the long run and will improve my test scores, quiz, and final exam scores. During freshman year I thought I did not have to study because I never had to in middle school, but I was wrong. Through the entirety of freshmen year I ended up doing poorly and receiving C’s. I had never gotten a C in my entire life, I barely got B’s. These grades started to make my GPA plummet and my parents began to question while their honor roll student suddenly started getting “average” grade when she had previously gotten straight A’s. I remember hearing stories about people who studied and did homework for hours and thinking that will never be me, but I have became that person. …show more content…
Studying the night before the test has proven inadequate, because I found out that I do not remember most of the information I tried to cram into one night. I try to start studying a few weeks before the test so I do not feel unprepared and overwhelmed.
I think that studying between classes should be equal, but I still struggle balancing my classes. Frequently I think a select few of my classes seem more important because they may be seen as “harder” and put off reviewing for my “easier” classes. Last year I had an anatomy test and a human relations test on the same day, so I focused all my time on my anatomy test. My anatomy test went great, but I ended up failing my human relations test because I did not prepare. From that failure I learned an important lesson, always review and prepare for a test no matter how easy you think the test will
