Hey Kenzie! I believe that you are spot of with everything that you observed from Kelly Cornell's speech "Sugar Blues". In my DB 8, I too as well talked about how she did a great job maintaining eye contact with the audience. I believe having great eye contact is a must if you are going to deliver a speech to an audience, it throws me off whenever the speaker is looking straight down at his/her paper the whole time. One thing I really didn't put in much thought to until I read your post was that she gave some of her own personal struggles with "sugar addiction" and how that helped her relate to the audience because that made them consider their addiction.
