Why Cause Pain?

Most people start the day off with a feeling of positivity when they first wake up, but when that certain person steps out into the unknown world, it doesn’t block themselves from harm. Each day approximately 8767.12 people are victims of bullying which adds up to “Over 3.2 million students are victims of bullying each year” (DoSomething). These students have a major downfall once they get bullied or have been bullied. Confidence has the ability to build or tear down people emotionally, physically, and mentally, but in today’s society, people are being harassed by their friends and family, their thoughts inside the head, and their peers bullying them. Suicide and Bullying may have a complex relationship, and may state that they are directly related; Others, as in the facts, suggest that bullying and suicide does not have an accurate and potentially dangerous response to each other. If some victims get drawn in by suicide, there are other multiple risk factors like “family history of suicide, family violence, physical or sexual abuse, keeping firearms in the home” (Suicide), prior attempts of suicide, exposure to the suicidal behavior of others, …show more content…
The second level is where bullying comes into play, Safety needs. Safety needs are associated “with the environment and can be seen at home [or] at school” (Sarah), and many schools have the ability to keep students safe while they are in the teachers classes. Each teacher is oblivious to others talking back about others because they are so focused on their curriculum that they do not notice bullying that is happening. As teachers are exceeding in making the students feel safe in their classes; the teachers are failing in acknowledging students bullying other students. The result of some students that are victims to bullying in schools, have “trouble completing work and learning material” (Sarah) because they have feelings of not being safe which brings down their thoughts of having self esteem. If self-esteem is not met to bring a person’s confidence up, then they have the ability to have a downfall in their confidence and self-esteem. Once their confidence in schools have been shot because of the bullies that make those people not feel safe in school, they will not have the motivation to get better and rise to be a greater
