I myself really liked the book and I really liked how it showed what some people have to go through and deal with to get by. Personally I have never had to deal with anything that Carl Matt has had to deal with at such a young age and I found it really interesting and amazing what he had to cope with and how n the end he manages to find a sense of family and actually feel as if he has someone there for him and isn’t going to leave him like his mother did. I also found it really inspiring that even though his weight problem he tried to at least go out and meet new people and eventually it finally paid off with him getting a job, working hard, finding some people who could accept him for him, and in the meantime he even lost a bit of weight which made him feel less self-conscious about himself. Overall I really did like the book and am glad that we read it because it made me realise how lucky me and a lot of people around me are for having such supportive parents and such supportive and caring people around me every day.
