One area that can be an issue would be integration. There are methods that can be controversial. One method would be deception during interrogation. Interrogations are a part of criminal justice and interrogations can be considered psychological. While confessions cannot be coerced through police force, police are able to use deception during their interrogation. Deception can be a powerful psychological tool used by to help extract a confession from suspects. The U.S. Supreme Court has allowed police to claim a suspect’s fingerprints were found at crime scene when that is untrue (Najdowski & Bonventre, 2014).
