In 1801 Inventor Eli Whitney made the first musket of interchangeable parts. He made the first musket parts the old fashion way by hand. Better tools sped up the manufacture of goods and improved their reliability. The factory system used power driven machinery and laborers assigned to different tasks, made mass production. This brought an Industrial revolution. The first Industrial revolution began in Britain. The primary source of income in america after the war was international trade. Farms produced grain and tobacco. When the war of 1812 broke out, and the British navy blocked the coastline so American trade ships couldn’t leave the county. Agriculture in the north was not a big thing. The south was the king of all of the cotton in america.
