Imagine you were in a life or death situation would you lie to get out of it? In the article, “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell the Truth,” by Barbara Ballinger, she interviews Brad Blanton on his philosophy about lying. Lying is sometimes justified when you are lying to protect someone in a life or death situation.

First of all, lying is only okay if it is a life or death situation. From the article, “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell the Truth,” by Barbara Ballinger, Blanton states, “Yes, but we shouldn’t manipulate the truth except in rare times-if you’re hiding Anne Frank in your attic because her life is in danger,” (Blanton paragraph 11). Clearly, this shows that lying is only okay in certain situations.

In addition, lying needs to be justified.
