In the mural "Going To The Olympics, 1984" by Frank Romero there are many different images with different symbols. There are five different colored cars symbolizing the symbols of the Olympics logo with their according color. There are also palm trees representing L.A. At the top of the mural there are different pictures. The iron on the top left is meant to symbolize the first multi medal athlete, Buster Crabbe. The rest of the paintings show the different types of competitions held at the Olympics.

The artists of the murals grew angry that they were ruined. The owner of the freeways, which allowed the murals, said "After spending so many hours and days and several thousand if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to repair these, still vandals again attack and defaced these murals." I agree with Frank Romero's reaction towards his situation. Working on something, like his mural, for such an amount of time and effort being put into it and having someone destroy it is devastating. It's like working on a school project that took hard work and having someone just come in and ruin it, i'd be very upset.

I can neither agree or disagree with the reaction of the city towards the mural being ruined. I understand where they're coming from, the mural was ruined and there was not much to do about it. Even if it could somehow be fixed, there's a high possibility it would get tagged on again. I also think the city should have consulted Frank Romero on their decision instead of just jumping to their
