The author of the “Loose Change” documentary, Dylan Avery, claims that the U.S. government was responsible for the explosive attack on the Pentagon. The author makes his claim in a video with the use of mysterious background music and a monotone voice, listing evidence in chronological order, and never providing context to the information. As the author lists his evidence in chronological order, it allows the viewer of the video to easily keep up with the video and understand the events that are happening in order. This allows the viewer to how each event builds upon the other leading to the final result. Creating a video allows the author to add background music which is more important than expected. The combination of the mysterious music and his monotone voice generates a setting similar to horror movie intros which is ideal as conspiracy theories are usually shocking and scary. In addition, with the video format, he is not forced to show his face, he is hidden behind the microphone and stays protected of his identity. This allows the author to hide his facial expressions and emotions when making a claim which could be used be against him if others were to see it. Moreover, speaking to a microphone is much easier than giving a public speech as the author wouldn’t have to deal with any interruptions or objections from the audience, making it easier to not miss any information from being presented to the audience. Additionally, displaying pictures of the incident, flight simulations, and clips of the attacks could only be done through a video, and without them, his claim would not be as convincing, as visuals help understand a topic much more than a
