We live in a society where food is abundant, Americans sees this and presume that because there are surpluses, they have the right to overindulge in it. After eating they refuse to exercise, this then leads to calories being stored in different areas of the body, resulting in obesity. Chapter 22 “Nutrition and Digestion”, chapter thread talks about controlling your weight, in its main topic, it talks about the secret of shedding pound which is not a secret because it is something we know already. This feature concludes that “if you take in more by eating than you burn by, activity, you will gain weight. If you burn more than you take in you will lose weight.” The essence of the argument is that in order for one to lose weight they have to consume fewer calories and burn more energy. Which is something author Matt Gemmell addresses in an essay his book.
