Summary of the Great Society speech President Lyndon B. gave a speech on May 22,1964 at the University of Michigan to inform people on how to build a great society. The main idea is that”our society will never be great until our cities are great”. This tells us that our community will not work as a good as a “great” community until each one of our cities our great.
In part 2 of the speech it talks about how people will come together in a community. He tells us this by saying “Men come together in cities in order to live, but they remain together in order to live a good life.” What he means really is that we can come together to live in our own city but it's when we meet people and help them that we have the fullest potential.
