Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is the diagnosis that I believe Howard Inlet, the main character in the movie Collateral Beauty, suffers with. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5), PTSD develops as a result of experiencing or being exposed to one or more traumatic events (2013). Regardless of this myth, PTSD is not a disorder that specifically targets soldiers or veterans who have experienced combat or those who live in a war zone (Web, MD). There are a countless number of events in which an individual can find traumatic, eventually causing PTSD. Yet, not everyone who experiences a traumatic event will develop PTSD. In addition to experiencing combat, traumatic events also include
