To respond to this jeopardy, most of Maycomb’s men traveled 60 miles to push the old fire trucks from Clark’s Ferry to Miss Maudie’s house. All folk of Maycomb, especially Miss Maudie, thanks these men for their bravery. From a cold, snowy night to a blazing fire lighting up the town, a series of odd events that’s for sure.
