In the article Unraveling, written by Austin Siadak, there are many things that could have been done to make this trip a success. From poor planning and leadership there was plenty of time to avoid the outcome of this adventure. Hind site is always 20/20 but this was obviously a good learning experience for all members of the group, despite it being an expensive failure. The first thing the group should have done, was properly access each others abilities. This can be done by taking small weekend trips, with the group to understand the personalities of each individual and the group dynamics. “Sure, we were friends when we left the states, but I’d only climbed extensively before with one of them.
