In life things will not always go smoothly; therefore there will be bumps along the way. Obstacles are sometimes not so easy to get over, if you do not have the right mind set. An obstacle, is anything that makes it difficult for you to get the task done. Anna Harrington, has great points on resilience. “Resilience is the development of psychological strength to assist the individual to overcome and grow from challenges” (Harrington, p.4). Anna Harrington, called it “bouncing back“, in her article “Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way”. Everyone faces obstacles that challenge them at some point in life (Harrington, 2012).

Getting over obstacles can be a bit challenging, but when you have the right mind set it makes things easier for you. Having a positive mindset, and only focusing on the positive instead of the negative is key to getting over any obstacle that you might face. Harrington, points out in her article that it is the way an individual responds when being in a set of circumstances. The way you react when you are in a sticky situation, can tell a lot about you as a person. When you are positive, and have the mindset that you are not giving up, you will overcome any obstacle that stands in your way (Harrington, 2012).
