Summary: Personal Narrative High School Basketball Team

Throughout my years playing on a competitive high school basketball team, my disposition transformed due to powerful encouragement and helping hands. As years went on I grasped the knowledge of playing basketball, but many hours of focus and practice took place during those five progressive years. My head coach was the strongest guidance for me, by acknowledging his specific ideology about basketball from previous years. This position became a new addition to my discourses. James Paul Gee defines a discourse as “a sort of "identity kit" which comes complete with the appropriate costume and instructions on how to act, talk, and often write, so as to take on a particular role that others will recognize” (Gee 278).
