The atmosphere inside Electric Lady Studios, founded by Jimi Hendrix and his manager Michael Jeffery in 1968, is indescribable. The psychedelic vibrations and “universal language of peace” flows through the rooms like Fabled Minetta Creek the studio sits atop. This “vibe” has drawn musicians of all kinds to the studio, from Stevie Wonder in the 70s to Weezer in the 90s to Frank Ocean as recently as last year. The rooms and the history housed within them have served as inspiration to everyone who has entered the space, and the relaxed lighting and décor has made many an artist feel comfortable to call the space a second home.
