After taking “The Gendered Brain”, I have recognized that both boys and girls brains are very different. This course has open my mind that I cannot teach my curriculum in one way. Boys are not better than girls and vice versa. “Both are equally capable of learning and succeeding; they will just do so in ways that we must understand if we are to create an educational environment that meets the needs of both” (Gurian, Stevens, & King, 2008). My goal is to create the best learning environment for both genders. I am currently a Family and Consumer Sciences (F.C.S.) for grades 9th through 12th following a block schedule that last 80 minutes long.
