Summary: The Importance Of Concussions In Baseball

Should the MLB make it to where it is very unlikely to get concussions? If you are a baseball player wouldn’t you want to know that you won’t get a concussion. Some information that I found was that they are going to take out collisions at home plate so there won’t be anymore or as many concussions at the plate. The MLB needs to do something to make it very unlikely to get concussions because a concussions can end your career. In the next couple of paragraphs I will be talking about some reasons on why the MLB should make some of the positions more safe. The MLB should put more padding in the walls in case you run into it and also put more padding in the helmets in case you get hit in the head with the ball or run into someone. The author of this article provides the evidence that “when you run full speed into a wall it is going to hurt so that way you put more padding in them so it won’t hurt as bad” (Goold).Also make the helmets more secure so if you get hit with a 90 mph fastball in the head …show more content…
Also they might say that the players should just be more careful not to run into a wall or the other players. The player should have to know their surroundings to be able to play that position because if not then that is how they get injured. If people were to say that then they would be right but also they players do know their surroundings but sometimes they make mistakes and bad things happen. Something else that people might say would be if you are playing catcher to just move out of the way and just let the runner score when they are on their way home. The catcher would not do that because they would be allowing the opposing team to get a free run. Yes it would prevent both the runner and the catcher from getting hurt but the team would be getting s free run.
