Stakeholders have been provided relevant information about criminal case processing in this jurisdiction and in this policy as they are the lawmakers themselves. Legislators have express the importance of have mandatory sentencing in order to give the proper sentencing to those who have committed violent crimes. State policy makers would not only like to respond to their concerns but also the public’s concern for tougher sanctions. Through thorough research it is found that most legislature agree with making tough punishments on criminals that committed violent offenses. And they believe that discretion should be used when sentencing offenders of non-violent crimes. Laws vary from state to state as some imposed harsher sentencing than others.
