In today’s world, society is easily influenced by others to assume that Latinos are a minority in the United States. However, Latinos are striving to help shape society around the idea that they are capable of defying what a stereotypical Latino is, in the eyes of others. Latinos are perceived as people who are part of the lower class, are uneducated, and are not a valuable asset to society, but in contrast they are overcoming harsh labels, pushing themselves towards an education, and contribute immensely into society.
Latinos are presumably known to be a part of low income families. Many people believe Latinos are lazy and are considered lower class simply because they do not work, however, many to most Latinos have a strong work ethic. When a person is born into a Latino community they learn the true meaning of family, and they are taught to sacrifice themselves to provide for their family’s needs and if possible wants. Although Latinos who are in the U.S legally have the same rights to work as any other citizen in this country, Latinos are often looked down upon and are not considered good enough to obtain a title of authority in many work environments. However, many parents know what it is like to grow up in a struggling household; The one in which they had to worry about having enough food on the table or making ends meet. Therefore, parents often push themselves to finish school or eventually go back to earn their GED to prove to themselves and their children that education is key to being successful in life. In addition, since every person in the U.S has the right to attend public schools from the early ages of 3 up until they are 18 there is no exception when it comes to Latinos persuading their children into attending school in hopes of giving them a better
