On August 6, 1990 JonBenet was born, in Atlanta Georgia. The daughter of a fashion designer and a wealthy businessman. Her mom’s name was Patsy Ramsey and her dad’s name is John Bennett. She was the youngest of two children. She had a brother named Burke Ramsey who was born in 1987. In 1991 her and her family moved to Boulder, Colorado. She was a 6-year-old beauty pageant queen. (5)

The crime scene was compromised when John Ramsey brought his daughter upstairs. The family was not immediately separated and interviewed. (5)
For the next four years, the police did not find out much.The Ramseys themselves were lead suspects. The evidence, though indirect, made the Ramseys appear guilty. The ransom note was extremely long, perplexing, very specific, and written on paper that belonged to the Ramseys. The same fiber found on the duct tape used to tie Jonbenet was found on Patsy's clothing as well. They were incompatible in their stories and the Ramseys appeared guilty in many media interviews. (5) The Boulder grand jury voted to bring John and Patsy Ramsey to court for their professed role in their daughter’s death in December 1999. However, Boulder District Attorney Alex Hunter decided not to file charges against them. Afterwards the Ramsey family decided to move back to Atlanta, Georgia. There they published a memoir, called “ The Death Of Innocence” By 2001 they felt the counter media had ruined their lives.

The first police to arrive on the scene was Linda Arndt, she searched around the house to find nothing. After a while, she told John Ramsey and his neighbor Fleet White to search the house for anything odd. Ramsey went straight to the basement where he immediately found his deceased child. He was told to leave everything how it was found,but he picked her up, carried the body upstairs, removed a piece of tape from her mouth and placed her down. He even covered her up with a throw blanket, in doing this he contaminated the crime scene.That's when Arndt started to feel that maybe Ramsey knew too much. Arndt had made it clear that she believed that the family was involved in JonBenet’s death. Ramsey hadn’t seen the body so some found it strange that he went right to the basement. Other suspicions were how John and Patsy let the 10 a.m. deadline in the $180,000 ransom note go by with no worries. Arndt described how she knelt beside JonBenét's body only inches away from John Ramsey, she began to count the bullets in the holster just in case she had to use one, from all the evidence and the way they were acting she was so convinced the murderer was in the house with her.Arndt wasn't the only one who found Ramsey's behavior suspicious.
