EO1100 and 1110 citizenship connects to our reading “The Rhetorical Ritual of Citizenship: Women’s Voting as Public Performance, 1868-1875,” by Angela G. Ray. The reason that it is connected is that we collectively creating a ritual through protest. We also used the protest to create discourse.
First, we spoke on the importance of the executive orders. We were informed that it was directly attacking people of color. EO1100 was to take out our F requirement which is cultural studies. That section is how many of the cultural studies fill up their classes. If it were to be taken away the departments would slowly disappear.
