As Hillary Clinton has said, “We’re always going to argue about abortion, it's a hard choice and it's controversial, and that's why I'm pro-choice, because I want people to make their own choices.” In the Supreme Court case Roe vs. Wade, The Supreme Court Judges decided that denying the right to an abortion was unconstitutional, giving the states the option at what trimester to stop accepting abortions. Abortion is legal for a reason, to give women a choice about their body. Although many people believe that abortion is not morally just, research proves that abortion can be ethically correct in most situations.

Since the beginning of time women have not had the rights that they need and deserve, women deserve the right to their body. Rights of women have also been taken away by male-ruled governments. “Attacks on women’s reproductive rights are occurring daily. State governments are all too eager to infringe on women’s rights by creating insurmountable barriers, leaving women unable to access the appropriate care they need and deserve (Hanson, Georgana, 126).” Women’s rights are as important as men’s. Also, in 1973 in the Supreme Court case Roe vs. Wade the idea of a abortion was disputed by ‘Jane Roe’ and Henry Wade. By the time that this case was over ‘Jane Roe’ or Norma Leah McCorvey had already had her baby and put it up for adoption. “The Supreme Court agrees to hear the case filed by Norma McCorvey against Henry Wade, who enforced a Texas law that prohibited abortion, except to save a woman’s life. The Texas law had been declared unconstitutional in an earlier federal district court case (Roe v. Wade).” The Federal Court System agreed with McCorvey that the right to an abortion is a constitutional right. Single Mothers have financial and social struggles, this can make it hard for the mother to care for her child. An abortion can help her get on track to be an established being in order to care for a child. “Many young mothers end up on welfare. Data shows that almost half of all teenage mothers and over three-fourths of unmarried teen mothers begin receiving AFDC within five years of the birth of their first child (Greenhaven Press).” From this source, I gather that unestablished women struggled to raise children.
