Elementary School One of my fondest memories is when I attended Sumner Elementary school in Claremont, CA. It was a start of a new beginning as I was learning how to read and write. Not only did I acquire all of this knowledge that I will forever use in my life, but it also meant something that I will always have in my life. Little did I know when I was in kindergarten that I was sitting next to my future husband, Neil. Our teacher Mrs. Hanson was very kind and caring to all the kids. I remember her classroom as I walked in everyday smelling like paste and crayons; it was very bright and colorful with all the art that we did hung up on the walls. Every morning all the kids would sit on the carpet as she read stories to us with such excitement and she always made us participate by reading along. Neil and I sat at the same table which was table 1, and we would enjoy making arts and crafts together and being the first table to be let out to recess. As time went on in the school year we developed our own group of friends, that till this day we still share the same friends. Every morning we would line up in alphabetical order according to last name for roll call and if we were out of order we would hear it, “why don’t you know your ABC’s”. Her classroom wasn’t very cheery it had writing samples of cursive all over the walls and smelled like an old burnt vanilla candle. One of mine and Neil’s
