Sunset Towers Chapter 11 Summary

Sunset Towers has been constructed and salesman, Barney Grace, wants to invite certain people to live in it. Jake, Grace, Angela, and Turtle Wexler; James, Sun, and Doug Hoo; George, Catherine, Theo, and Chris Theodorakis; Judge Ford, Crow, Sydelle Pulaski, and Flora Baumbach; these are the lucky tenants. The narrator reveals that one tenant is a thief, one is a bomber, and another isn’t even supposed to be there. These tenants move in during September.
On Halloween, Turtle Wexler is dared to go into the Westing house after hearing about the last two kids who went in; they went crazy. The next morning, she reads in the newspaper that sixteen people, including most of Sunset Tower’s tenants, are called to the reading of Sam Westing’s will. The other people called in are Otis Amber, Dr. Deere, and Sandy McSouthers. Ed Plum, a lawyer, leads the reading of the will and reveals that Sam Westing was murdered and one of the heirs is the culprit. The heirs are paired up and given clues along with $10,000 to solve the murder. Everyone is reminded that it’s not what they have, it’s what they don’t have that matters. Then, the judge decides to throw a party for the heirs where they spy on each other. The morning after the party, some heirs meet in the coffee shop to go over their clues, and to read Sydelle’s copy of the will. A bomb goes off. No one's hurt, but it's scary. The judge decides to call a private investigator but his voice sounds unusually familiar. In the evening, everyone has dinner in the Chinese Restaurant on the fifth floor when the second bomb goes off. This time Sydelle's hurt and taken to the hospital. Angela discovers she received two more clues anonymously while she visits her partner,
